The Lubavitcher Rebbe

About the Tzadik:

🕍 Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, known as “the Rebbe,” was the leader of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement and is one of the most recognizable men in Judaism.

✡️ Date of birth: April 18, 1902( Hebrew י"א בניסן תרס"ב), in Nikolayev, a town in southern Ukraine.

His father, Rabbi Levi Yitzchok Schneerson, was a renowned scholar, while his mother, Rebbetzin Chana Schneerson, was an aristocratic woman from a prestigious rabbinic family. He had two younger brothers, Dovber and Yisroel Aryeh Leib. When Menachem Mendel was five years old, the family moved to Yakaterinoslav, now Dnepropetrovsk, where his father was appointed chief rabbi.
On Monday, Sivan 28, 5701 (June 23, 1941), the Rebbe and the Rebbetzin arrived in the United States, having been miraculously rescued, by the grace of Almighty G‑d, from the European holocaust.

The Rebbi leadership impacted Jews around the world by sending Chabad Shluchim to every possible country to establish Chabad Houses that will light the local Jewish community with the light of the Torah by practicing holidays, putting tefillin, and many other sparks of Torah and Mitzvahs that changed and continue to change many lives around the world.

🕯Died: 3rd of Tammuz, in the year 5754 (ג' בתמוז תשנ"ד) June 12, 1994, at the age of 92.
